2010

After receiving the Eco-label for sheet-fed offset printing in 2006, Druckerei Berger has now also been awarded the Austrian Eco-label for web offset printing and digital printing and therefore now fulfils the highest ecological requirements in all areas.

2009

Austrian firsts:
GOSS M600 D – new, rapid 16-page roller
MÜLLER MARTINI PRIMERA E 140-Stitching machine with ONYX packaging system

2008

Austria’s first privately owned web printing press.

2007

Kolbus Publica 12.000 – the most up-to-date adhesive binding conveyor in Austria. The latest CTP Technology – Lüscher XPose 160 UV

2006

The largest black and white digital printer in Austria.
Construction of a hall measuring 5,500 m2 for MAN Lithoman IV 48 pages (biggest construction activity since the company was founded). Druckerei Berger has been awarded the Austrian Eco-label for sheet-fed offset printing

2005

Bookbindery – Heidelberg steel-folding machine
First printing house in the German-speaking area to obtain PEFC-certification

2004

MAN Roland 705 + Eagle Eye + Coating Unit.

2003

Renovation of the administrative department and the reception area.

2002

Takeover of the Manz Printing House.

2001

Commissioning of the first Agfa/Lüscher CTP system in Austria and the biggest domestic printing plate consumer

2000

The fifth generation of the Berger family, Ferdinand Junior and Peter Junior, progress to management level.

1998

130th anniversary of the Berger Printing House. The biggest individual investment in the company’s history: the 24-page web offset printing machine “Sunday-Press” – the first of its kind in Austria.

1995

Berger-Print-Shop opened.

1993

Commissioning of the most up-to-date web offset printing machine in Austria, the “Harris-Heidelberg M 600”.

1986

Commencement of web offset printing technology.

1977

Produktionsumstellung auf Filmsatz und Offsetdruck. Restructuring of production to phototypography and offset printing. Construction of a new building – Werk III -  in a rural area.

1965

Peter Berger begins work in the company after completing his training and a stay abroad.

1961

Ferdinand Berger IV joins the company after gaining professional experience in Germany and devotes his time to continuous form printing.

1938

Acquisition of two special rotary presses – the only two of their kind in Austria – for the production of chequebooks.

1925

Ferdinand Berger III joins the company after gaining professional experience abroad.

1911

The first Linotype typesetting machine is set up in 1911.

1868

Ferdinand Berger I goes into business by himself.
He starts a book printing business in Horn with a manual press!
